Google Content Form Extensions
After site links and location extensions, Google is taking it to the next level with contact form extensions.
How do contact form extensions work? If your ad is in the number one position, Google provides the searcher with a plus icon that gives a call to action and Google will provide a contact form that can be submitted in the same page as the Google search results.
The leads are priced with the maximum cost-per-click bid and here is how it works.
If you ad hits the number one spot and the searcher clicks the plus icon, the searcher is given a contact form. If the user gives the necessary information and hits the “Give me a call” button, the information will be channeled to Google.
Google then provides you with a lead ID and the kind of information that the potential lead needs in an email. You will have to call the lead within 24 business hours through a special Google phone number and give them the lead ID. Google, then calls the lead, and you will then be connected to your potential customer.
Since the contact form extension is still in beta, there are still much to be desired. Only US-based phone numbers are accepted so those with campaigns targeted for the United States audience are accepted. Meanwhile, this type of extension again makes the number one spot seem all the more worthwhile to consider.
